Today I backed up the virtual machine to a external USB Hard Drive.
I installed a version control system (git) to keep track of the changes in the whole /etc directory.
I make a commit when a package is installed or upgraded and when I change the configuration files and I hope to keep track of all possible changes in the development VM with this.
